Earlier today, Kanye West, aka Ye, shared his love for The Last of Us Part 2 on Instagram Stories. He labeled it “by far the best game ever made so far.”
Kayne shared that he’s been playing the game’s Survivor+ mode and spending as many hours as he can on one single board. Ye posted a short clip of his gaming screen alongside his enthusiastic caption.

The survival mode that is Kanye’s obsession right now is called No Return. This challenging single-player rogue-like mode was released with the game’s remastered version on January 19, 2024.
In this mode, randomized encounters occur in familiar locations in The Last of Us 2’s universe, and players navigate as they plot their own paths to survival.
This mode consists of “perma death” as the cherry on top. This means when you die, you lose everything: weapons, items, upgrades. The mode also enables one to play a variety of The Last of Us 2 characters on the roster that have different traits and playstyles, including Ellie, Abby, Dina, Joel, Tommy, Jesse, Lev, Yara, Mel, and Manny.
Mixed reactions followed Ye’s praise for The Last of Us 2 in the gaming community.
While some fans backed his claims, with one X user commenting, ‘If he says it is the best game ever made, then it is settled.’ Some were more doubtful about whether Kayne played enough games for comparison. One user also said, “It’s a good game, but like, it’s probably not top 10 all-time, honestly. It might not even be better than the first one.”
The Last of Us Part 2 is, at the very least, a landmark title in gaming. It was developed by the acclaimed Naughty Dog video game company. The Last of Us 2 also sold 4 million copies in its first month and contains a 93 Metacritic score. By spring 2022, it had more than 10 million units sold to become one of PlayStation’s most successful exclusives.
